So where do you want to work, anyway? That’s the million-dollar question.

We believe in treating a job search like a sales funnel.  You need to start with dozens of opportunities at the top to reach a handful of offers at the end.

One of the biggest challenges in a job search is not knowing what opportunities are even available. Most people default to checking out the job boards. The problem with this strategy is two-fold: every job you see could have hundreds of other great applicants, and some of the best companies never even post their jobs!

We advise people to make your own path in your job search: start with identifying companies doing things you’re passionate about.  Do a lot of research and force yourself to identify 50+ companies. Then find ways to introduce yourself to key contacts. Once you’re ‘known’, you have the inside track and internal advocates socializing what you bring to the table.

Careerwell will cover:

  • Digging deep to research and identify organizations you’re passionate about
  • Methods of proactive outreach to build relationships with  peers and key stakeholders
  • Expanding and tracking your progress to execute a targeted job search at scale

ResumeWell

Create a compelling resume that tells your story

Resumes are one of the key cornerstones of a job search, yet most people absolutely hate writing them. And frankly, most people hate reading them, too: on average you’ve got 7 seconds to grab a recruiter or hiring manager’s attention. No pressure, right?

The challenge of creating a great resume usually stems from a lack of know-how and direction.

How do you decide what to include? What will the reader find interesting? How do you concisely highlight your career accomplishments and tell your story?

Get resume advice from experts that have decades of experience in hiring and talent acquisition.

Careerwell will cover:

  • Formatting an easy-to-follow and visually appealing design
  • Tailoring multiple versions of your resume to target specific roles or companies
  • Articulating the depth of your experience and using data to tell your story
  • Showcasing your career growth and provide context to the scope of your work
  • Identifying the correct keywords and skills to ensure you’re resume is seen by the right people

Resume Writing: How To Impress Someone In 7 Seconds Or Less

Resumes: No one likes writing them, and no one really likes reading them either. The Six-Second Rule is real (but it’s actually seven seconds now, I guess that’s an improvement). The only thing more boring than writing a resume? Writing a how-to post on resumes. But...

BrandWell

Manage your online presence and enhance your industry reputation

Everyone has a brand, whether they realize it or not.

At a minimum, how do you ensure that brand doesn’t blow your chances of landing your dream job? And ideally, how do you become a thought leader?

While your brand is not something a lot of people think about when it comes to a job search, it is perhaps one of your biggest differentiators: it’s far easier to get an interview when the hiring manager already knows who you are. Social media has allowed us to network at hyperspeed, so boosting your reputation is a matter engaging with the right crowd of people regarding professional topics that you’re passionate about.

Careerwell will cover:

  • Beefing up your social media profile (especially LinkedIn)

  • Engaging with key stakeholders at target organizations

  • Building a highly targeted audience of peers and decisions makers in your industry

  • Becoming a thought leader in your industry

NegotiateWell

Negotiate the best salary and seal the deal

Nobody wants to leave money on the table. For most people, negotiation is uncomfortable. You’ve come so far in landing your dream job, how do you ensure you finish strong and get the best possible offer?

Most of the uneasiness around negotiation comes from a lack of understanding or rather a lack of practice. As infrequently as most people interview, they negotiate final offers even less. So like all other phases of the job-seeking process, it very much comes down to building your knowledge base to have the confidence to negotiate well.

Careerwell will cover:

  • Knowing current market salary trends and setting realistic expectations with yourself
  • Evaluating all aspects of a compensation package
  • Understanding where the company may have flexibility and where you have leverage
  • Communicating your interest while asking for more
